Is Denver Vegan Friendly?

Yes, and you’re gonna love it here!

Close to Ember Hostel

City O’ City (Anything can be made vegan)

everyday 7 am - 2 am

Happy Hour: 3 pm - 6 pm, 11 pm - 2 am

Our first recommendation given to any hungry traveler asking for “good food, close by” is City O’ City. The food is so damn scrumptious you won’t even know it’s all plant based. We highly recommend the Chicken & Waffles complete with bourbon-brined chicken-fried cauliflower with maple syrup and carrot bacon atop a dense savory waffle. It’s a Denver favorite serving up food, coffee, and libations all day and late night. City O’ City is a mere 10 minute walk from the hostel - you could literally eat each meal here!

Make Believe Bakery (vegan)

everyday 12 pm - 9:30 pm (11:30 pm Thur-Sat)

Don’t forget to visit Make Believe Bakery right next to City O’ City for all your vegan sweet desires. We suggest the HoHo cupcake or the Scout cookie. Or any of it, or all of it.

A food hall for gathering and grubbing! So many great food options, from 6 different chefs, this is a great place when traveling with Omnis. Did we mention they have a self serve beer wall?!

Maria Empanadas (vegan friendly)

They offer a vegan option with braised veggies & Argentine chimichurri sauce! Or give the Mushroom, Onions, Mozzarella & garlic pouch a try!

Biju’s Little Curry (vegan friendly)

Try the yummy Veg Bowl or hopefully the daily special includes the Grilled Chapati with Roasted Carrots & Coconut Curry. (Just writing those words made my stomach grumble, so delish!)

The Corner Beet (vegan friendly)

Their specialty is toast! Need a fresh start to your day? We recommend the Farmer (16-grain garlic bread topped with hard boiled egg and heaped with dressed dijon spring greens) - sub avocado for the eggs and you’ll be licking the plate clean - no judgment. Looking to grub out before you step in line at the Ogden Theater? We recommend the Bahn Mi. Try it, devour it, thank us later. And don’t forget to order something from their coffee and juice bar - so fresh & unique.

South Broadway - still within walking distance

Happy Hour 3 pm - 6 pm & 8 pm - close

This is our go to spot when fresh off the Airport Train with a grumble in our tummy. It’s also the perfect downtown meet up spot with plenty of seating indoors and out with lots of people watching, all while housed in Denver’s “Living Room” at Union Station. We suggest the beet burger (yuummmmyy) or any of their vegan friendly snacks and salads. You can’t go wrong. If you aren’t too full after grubbing, head into MilkBox Ice Creamery (right next door) for some vegan desserts!
