+ What is the Cancellation Policy?
We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you do not cancel your booking by 3 pm the previous day, it will result in a cancellation charge equal to the first night of your stay.
+ Is there an age requirement?
We require all our guests to be at least 18 years of age. If you have a special request, please email us.
+ Can I receive mail/packages at the hostel?
Yes, of course. Just be sure to include “Ember Hostels c/o [insert your name here] and the full address: 857 Grant Street, Denver, CO 80203”. We will hold the mail for you at the front desk.
+ How do I get to Ember?
Take train to Union Station – Airport Terminal: follow signs for Westin hotel, when outside take the escalator down to the train platform. Hop on the A-Line ($9 one way, runs every 15-30 minutes). The A-Line drops you off at Union Station (train’s last stop).
Take Bus to Ember Hostel: Grab the number 0 at gate B20. You will get off at Broadway and 9th Ave. We are just two blocks east on 9th Ave. We are next to the parking lot.

+ Do you offer on-site parking?
Yes, we have 20 on-site parking spots available. Please check in with front desk upon arrival and we will direct you to the available spots. When driving to the hostel, you can access the parking lot by entering the alley between Sherman and Grant Streets. The parking lot is directly behind our building.
+ Do you offer secure luggage storage?
Yes, the hostel provides a luggage storage room complete with lockers for you to use prior to your stay or after checking out. Individual lockers are also in each dormitory for use during your stay. Bring a lock or purchase one from us for $5.
+ Is there a maximum length of stay?
The maximum length of stay is 14 days. Please contact us via email for special requests.
+ I'm a Denver local. Can I stay?
Unfortunately, we do not allow locals to stay. We are a hostel for travelers. If you have a special request, use the contact form on our website to submit your request.
+ Are linens provided or should I bring my own sheets, pillows and towel?
All linens are included. We do not allow outside linens or pillows.
+ Are there on-site laundry facilities?
Yes, we do have a washer and dryer. You will need a credit card to wash/dry. We also sell detergent at $1.50.
+ Can you bring alcohol into the hostel?
Yes, you are welcome to purchase your favorite beverages. These will come in handy when lounging in our hot tub or sitting around the fire pit.
+ Can you bring your own food into the hostel? Does the hostel include a kitchen?
Our kitchen provides you with the basics for food consumption: fridge, microwave, toaster oven and hot plates. We also have an array of dishes and utensils. You are more than welcome to store your food in the kitchen.
+ Is there a curfew?
We do not have a curfew. We have 24-hour reception, so someone is always available. We do have quiet hours from 11 pm – 8 am.
+ Do you allow group bookings?
We always do our best to put groups in the same room, but this is not always possible and cannot be guaranteed. Please call in advance to determine options. Groups larger than 12 guests need to contact the hostel directly to reserve dates.
+ Is the hostel handicap accessible?
Guests with mobility impairment are asked to please indicate to our staff their need for assistance before making a reservation. Unfortunately due to the age, historic restrictions and nature of our building there is no accessible route or powered lift on site to assist with eight sidewalk and front porch steps. Before your arrival we require a waiver of indemnification to be signed. There are two waivers. One shall be signed if you allow our staff to assist with entry/exit to our building. Another shall be signed if your companions will be responsible for helping with entry/exit to/from our building. It should be noted that our staff do not have the capability to lift powered wheelchairs. If the first waiver is signed, our staff will assist in lifting a non-powered wheelchair from the sidewalk to the inside of our building, eight total steps, and back down upon request.
+ What time is Check-In and Check-Out?
Check in time is 3 pm and check out time is 11 am. We have 24-hour reception. So, whenever you are set to arrive we can meet you and get you settled into your new resting place. If you arrive earlier, you can store your luggage in our secure luggage room. ￼￼￼￼
+ Does the hostel have free wi-fi?
Yes, the hostel is equipped with free wi-fi for our guests to use. Just reference your key card for the network password.
+ When is the hot tub open?
The hot tub is available year round. Please note that we clean it once a week and the hot tub is closed on Tuesday and Wendesday mornings.
